IP License Agreement

An intellectual property licensing agreement occurs between an intellectual property rights owner (‘licensor’) and someone who is authorised to use the rights (‘licensee’) in exchange for monetary value in the form of a fee or a royalty. Why is this necessary? Licensing is part and parcel for any software development business, and this could be licensing by the company to any third party or vice-versa.
