Form DIR 8 is a declaration through which a director intimates the Board about the companies in which he/she has held directorships in the last three years. In case he/she ceased to be a director in any of the companies in the past three years, details of such cessation are also required to be entered.
Why is this necessary? The provisions of the Companies Act 2013, mandate such a declaration and it is an intimation by the director to the company about his disqualification as a director, if any.
